Hooks & Angles

Hooks & Angles

Ten ways into Infatuation Scripts, each built on an idea from the sales letter. For every angle you get who it suits, the idea behind it, opening lines you can use as subject lines, post openers or the first line of a video, and the page your link should go to.

Create my hoplink
  • Pick one angle per email, post or video. A single clear idea gets more clicks than a mix of all of them.
  • Each opening line is written to make the reader want the answer, so leave the answer to the video or the letter. Don't explain the script or the trick in your own copy.
  • The link button on each angle uses your saved hoplink with the landing page that suits that angle best.

Where each link can go

Main sales page (video)

The video sales letter. Best for most traffic: social, email and anyone who prefers to watch.

Written sales letter (&pg=written)

The same story as a text letter. Best for readers: blogs, articles, long emails and people reading at work.

The angles

1

He's pulling away

Who it's for

Women dating someone who has started to go quiet: slower replies, fewer plans, less attention than at the start.

The idea behind it

The letter opens with Emma at a restaurant, feeling the man she likes losing interest before dessert. She uses a curiosity script, then an investment script and an uncertainty script, and by the end of the night he is holding her hand. The idea underneath: reasoning with him or showing him how great you are won't bring him back, but waking up his infatuation instinct will.

Opening lines

  • Halfway through dinner she could feel him losing interest, and she had until dessert to change his mind.
  • He used to reply in minutes, and now it takes him a day. What you say in your next conversation matters more than anything you said before.
  • When a man starts to drift, being nicer to him is the reflex. Watch what happened when one woman said something very different.
  • She took a deep breath and said something she would never have said a week earlier.

The "what are we?" talk

Who it's for

Women a few weeks or months in with no label yet, waiting for him to say where it is going.

The idea behind it

In the letter, Emma never has to ask. Jack is the one who brings up the "so where is this going?" talk, because he is the one who is hooked. Investment scripts get a man working to earn your attention, and the more he puts in, the deeper he falls.

Opening lines

  • What if he was the one asking "so where is this going?"
  • Before you ask him "what are we?", watch what happened when a woman waited for him to bring it up.
  • Some men rush to make it official, and others dodge the question for months. The difference starts with what she says.
  • The morning after one dinner, he was asking her to be his date at a wedding.

3

Newly dating, don't want to blow it

Who it's for

Women who have just met someone they really like, or are a few dates in.

The idea behind it

The letter says the scripts work with a man you have only just met, to stand out from every other woman he is talking to. Curiosity and intrigue scripts keep you on his mind when you are not around, and cliffhanger scripts at the end of a conversation leave him feeling he just has to see you again.

Opening lines

  • There's a way to end a first date that leaves a man feeling he has to see you again.
  • He texted her 15 minutes after dropping her home. She knew exactly why.
  • If you have just started seeing someone you really like, watch this before your next date.
  • In the first few dates you can blend in with every other woman he's talking to, or stand out as the only one.

Long-term, but he's stopped trying

Who it's for

Women with a long-term boyfriend or husband who has become comfortable and stopped making an effort, or who still changes the subject when the future comes up.

The idea behind it

The letter says that when a man feels he has complete control of a woman and the relationship, the excitement goes and his infatuation instinct gets stuck in the off position. The scripts are made to put him back into courtship mode, so he realises how lucky he is to have you and starts showing it.

Opening lines

  • He used to plan dates and bring you flowers. Then he got comfortable.
  • If you have been together for years and he still changes the subject when the future comes up, there is a reason, and it can be changed.
  • The man who couldn't wait to see you at the start is still in there.
  • There's a feeling that keeps a man chasing his wife for years, and it fades quietly once he feels too sure of her.

5

The checklist trap

Who it's for

Women who have worked hard to be what men say they want (kind, fun, smart, easy-going) and still end up "almost" chosen.

The idea behind it

Most women try to be a man's perfect girl and tick every box on his list. The letter explains that this only reaches the rational part of his brain. It doesn't touch the infatuation instinct, which is what overrides all his reasons to hold back and makes him certain.

Opening lines

  • You can be everything on his list, and he can still feel that something is missing.
  • Men say they want smart, funny and kind. Then they fall for a woman who doesn't fit the list at all.
  • Trying to be his perfect girl speaks to the wrong part of his brain.
  • She had every quality he asked for, so why did he choose someone else?

Why he left his "perfect girl"

Who it's for

Women who have been let go by a man who said they were wonderful, and never got a real reason.

The idea behind it

This is Emma's own story. Liam told her she was everything he had ever wanted, but something was missing. Months later he got engaged to Stephanie, and told Emma he had never felt so sure. Her search for why led her to Clayton Max and the infatuation instinct. The story reads well as text, so the written letter suits this angle.

Opening lines

  • "You're everything I've always wanted. But something's missing." Six months in, that's what he told her.
  • He said she was perfect for him. A few months later he called to say he was engaged to someone else.
  • She begged him to tell her what was missing, and he couldn't give her an answer.
  • "I know it's quick, but I've never felt this sure of anything before." He was talking about the other woman.

7

"I'm not ready" and "the timing's wrong"

Who it's for

Women who keep hearing that he isn't ready for a relationship, that the timing isn't right, or that it doesn't make sense right now.

The idea behind it

Looking back, Emma realised that every reason a man gave her for not moving forward was a smokescreen. If his infatuation instinct had been switched on, none of those reasons would have mattered. The program also covers men who have always avoided commitment and men who are stuck on another woman.

Opening lines

  • When a man says he's "not ready for a relationship", he usually means something else entirely.
  • "The timing isn't right" might be the most misunderstood sentence in dating.
  • He wasn't ready to commit, and then he met someone else and was engaged within the year.
  • Before you wait another six months for him to be ready, watch this.

The men who swore they'd never settle down

Who it's for

Women drawn to men who say they don't believe in marriage, and anyone curious about why certain women get the commitment-shy man to commit.

The idea behind it

Clayton Max started his research when three of his friends, all of whom said settling down wasn't for them, got engaged in the same year. One even moved across the country. The women they chose didn't have the qualities the men said they wanted, so Clayton interviewed the couples and studied the research on love and attraction to find what those women did.

Opening lines

  • Three men who swore marriage wasn't for them all got engaged in the same year.
  • One of them moved across the country for a woman he hadn't known long.
  • The women they chose didn't have the qualities these men had always said they wanted.
  • A dating coach watched his commitment-shy friends fall one after another, and went looking for the reason.

9

No more playing games

Who it's for

Women who hate playing hard to get and want a man to know they like him, without losing his interest.

The idea behind it

The letter says most women have no idea how to create curiosity, investment and a little uncertainty without game-playing. Barrier scripts let you show as much desire as you want while keeping something back, and "interested-but-not-sold" scripts let him know he has a chance, as long as he works for it.

Opening lines

  • You don't have to pretend you're not interested to keep a man chasing you.
  • There's a way to show a man you really like him that makes him want you even more.
  • Playing hard to get never felt right to you. There's another way to keep him working for your attention.
  • Most men have never met a woman who is interested in them but not yet sold, and it does something to them.
